DODDRIDGE COUNTY AMBULANCE AUTHORITY PUBLIC COMMENT POLICY

 


The Doddridge County Ambulance Authority appreciates and welcomes public comments at their meetings. To ensure order, protect decorum and allow for the timely completion of meetings, the Doddridge County Ambulance Authority adopts the following policy:


1. Any member of the public or a representative of any agency may attend any meeting of the Doddridge County Ambulance Authority and may speak during the public comment period.

 

2. The officer who presides over the meetings shall recognize any individual who wishes to speak and members of the public may only speak when recognized.


3. Any member of the public may comment about anything which is related to the Doddridge County Ambulance Authority so long as they do so in a manner that displays decorum and courtesy to all who are present. Profanity and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may cause the member of the public to be prohibited from speaking or asked to leave the meeting.


4. Any member of the public may discuss any matter relating to the Doddridge County Ambulance Authority for up to five minutes. Following five minutes, the officer presiding over the meeting shall inform the speaker that his or her time has lapsed and the member of the public shall cease speaking. The Ambulance Authority may choose to extend the speaker’s time. This may be accomplished with a properly presented and approved motion to allow the speaker more time. The extension shall allow the speaker to continue for an additional 5 minutes, unless the motion specifically provides otherwise.

5. Following any comment by a member of the public, the Ambulance Authority or any Authority member may address the issues raised by the comment. The Ambulance Authority is not required to respond to any public comment, but may respond at the discretion of the members of the Authority. There is no time limit on the Authority’s response.

6. Public Comment shall be limited to 30 minutes. The Ambulance Authority may extend the Public Comment time. This may be accomplished by a properly presented and approved motion to allow more time for Public Comment. The extension shall be for an additional 15 minutes unless the motion specifically provides otherwise.

7. This public comment policy shall immediately take effect once properly approved by the Doddridge County Ambulance Authority.
